Most agencies are vague about their process until you sign a contract. This page covers exactly how Econestech works with clients, from the first conversation through onboarding, monthly work, and reporting. If you want to know what you are actually getting before committing to anything, this is the right page to read.
Every engagement starts with a free SEO audit of your website, Google Business Profile, and current search visibility. We review your rankings for target searches, identify technical issues on the website, assess your Google Business Profile, and look at how your top-ranking competitors are positioned.
The audit is delivered as a written report. We then schedule a call to walk through the findings, answer questions, and recommend what we think makes sense for your situation. There is no pressure to proceed. Some businesses take the report and make the changes themselves. That is a perfectly fine outcome.
If the conversation leads to working together, the audit findings become the foundation of the first months of the engagement, so there is no repetition of work already done.
When a new client decides to proceed, onboarding takes approximately one week. We need four things to get started:
Developer or admin access to the site, depending on the platform.
Manager access so we can edit and maintain the profile.
If already set up, we request access. If not set up, we set it up.
A brief conversation or written summary covering your services, your typical customers, your geographic coverage, any competitors you are aware of, and any content preferences or restrictions.
With these in place, we can begin work within the same week of onboarding completion.
The first month is predominantly audit, setup, and strategy, not execution on arbitrary tasks. This is the phase where doing the groundwork correctly produces better returns from month two onwards.
A thorough crawl of the website identifying every technical issue affecting rankings. Page speed problems, indexation errors, canonical tag issues, missing title tags, broken links, and schema gaps.
Identifying the specific searches your potential customers make, how competitive each search is, and which terms represent the best opportunities given the current state of the website.
Reviewing the top-ranking competitors for your primary searches and identifying what they have that you do not.
Completing and optimising every section of the profile, adding services, updating photos, and setting up any missing elements.
Recording your current positions for all target searches so there is a clear starting point to measure every month against.
By the end of month one you receive a written summary of everything found and a clear roadmap for the first six months.
From month two onwards, work runs across several areas each month depending on the package and scope agreed.
New pages and articles written to target specific searches. Every piece is researched against actual search data, written for a specific keyword target, and published on the website. You receive completed drafts for review before publication if content review is part of the agreed process.
As websites update, new technical issues can emerge. We monitor for these and resolve them before they compound into ranking problems.
New photos, regular posts, review monitoring, and responding to reviews in a tone consistent with the business.
Where included in the scope, identifying and pursuing link acquisition opportunities appropriate for the industry and budget.
Monitoring existing directory listings for changes and building new listings where relevant.
Every client receives a monthly report. The report covers:
Your position in Google for every target search tracked from the start of the engagement. Compared to the previous month and to the baseline so you can see the direction and pace of movement.
Visitor data from Google Search Console showing how many people are finding the site through organic search and which pages they are finding.
A specific itemised list of what was done during the month. Pages published with their URLs, links acquired with their sources, profile updates made, and technical issues resolved.
What is happening next and why.
The report is written in plain language. If something is not clear, we explain it. If something did not go as planned, we say so and explain what we are doing about it.
Every client has a named point of contact at Econestech who understands their campaign. You do not deal with a rotating team of people who do not know your history.
For routine questions and updates, we communicate by email. For more substantial strategy conversations, we schedule calls. Monthly reports are sent in the first week of each month covering the previous month’s work.
If something significant happens, a Google algorithm update that affects rankings, an unexpected technical issue discovered on the site, or anything that requires prompt attention, we communicate proactively rather than waiting for the next scheduled report.
Our SEO and web design engagements are month to month with no minimum commitment period. We operate this way because we believe the results should be the reason clients stay, not a contract.
That said, SEO requires sustained effort to produce compounding results. Businesses that commit to at least six months consistently see meaningfully better outcomes than those that stop and start. We recommend treating SEO as a twelve-month investment and evaluating results at that point, with the understanding that month-to-month flexibility is always available if circumstances change.
For local SEO, early ranking movement is typically visible within two to four months. For more competitive organic searches, meaningful traffic and lead growth is usually clear within six to nine months. The free audit at the start of every engagement sets realistic expectations specific to your market and starting point.
Very little. Review the monthly report, provide feedback on any content drafts if content review is part of the process, and let us know if anything significant changes in the business. Beyond that, the work runs without requiring your involvement.
You will have a named point of contact throughout the engagement who understands your campaign and can answer specific questions directly.
Everything produced is yours. Content published on your website stays on your website. Google Business Profile and Search Console access stays with you. There are no deliverables that disappear when an engagement ends.
For web design, one-time project work is the standard model. For SEO, ongoing retainer work produces better results than one-time projects because rankings are built and maintained over time. We can discuss specific project-based work on a case-by-case basis for businesses with specific needs.
